Former president Amine Gemayel Friday described the meeting of top political leaders at the Baabda Palace as authoritarian, saying that the final statement was insignificant and did not reassure people. “The meeting was incomplete despite the fact that it was given great attention,” he told the Central News Agency.
Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel on Thursday pinpointed the flaws marring the vote law approved by the government, saying that the proportional voting system has been tarnished by failing to apply a unified criterion to all electoral constituencies. “The Parliament is not being respected as lawmakers are not allowed to play their role. That's why I am going to comment on the vote law through the media,” Gemayel said during a press conference held in Saifi.
