Speaker Nabih Berri refuted claims that parliamentary void is constitutionally impossible to happen, deeming such allegations as a "mere heresy". "The Constitution is clear. Such interpretations are a mere heresy and nonsense," Berri told Al-Joumhouria newspaper, saying that those who spread these allegations know nothing about the law and the Constitution.
MP Elie Marouni stressed on Wednesday that the Kataeb lawmakers will once again reject the extension of the Parliament's term, saying that the party has spared no effort to bring forth solutions that would lead to the approval of a new electoral law. "Kataeb youth and partisans will take to the street tomorrow to demand a fair vote law and protest against the Parliament extension," he said in an interview on OTV.
