The Queen Could Face Police Probe Over ‘Illegal’ Ivory on Display at Sandringham House

The Queen could face a police probe after claims that elephant tusks have been illegally displayed at Sandringham House. An antique gong hanging between two ivory tusks was shown to paying visitors before being removed by officials. Police are looking into claims that they are “unworked” ivory under European law. This is banned from display “for commercial gain” without a special exemption.
