Kataeb MP Elie Marouni deemed the protest that was held Sunday at the Riad El-Solh Square as the start point for a bigger revolution, calling on the Lebanese state to take care of its citizens and stand by their side.
“The life of people and the survival of the nation will be the headlines of this new revolution”, Marouni told Voice of Lebanon radio station on Monday.
“People are suffering from hunger and oppression in the absence of jobs and amid the difficult living conditions the country is witnessing. Back in 2005, we were able to liberate Lebanon from the Syrian occupation, but today the people are gathering to demand their right to live,” Marouni said.
“Thus the government is required to serve the Lebanese’s interests and help them have a better life,” he added.
