Maronite Patriarch Calls for Addressing Syrian Refugee Crisis Away from Political Divergences

Maronite Patriarch Bechara Al-Rahi on Sunday emphasized the growing distress on the economic, financial, social and security levels, highlight the concerns that the presence of two million Syrian refugees is entailing.

In his Sunday sermon marking Saint Charbel's Day at Mar Maroun Convent in Annaya, Rahi urged political leaders to take a swift action so as to secure the safe return of Syrian refugees away from political divergences, warning that this crisis is jeopardizing Lebanon.

The mass was attended by President Michel Aoun, Vatican Ambassador Gabriel Caccia, Army commander Joseph Aoun as well as several ministers and deputies.
