Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblat on Wednesday stated that his party cannot bear the consequences of acts carried out by other factions taking part in the government, saying that it is time to fight corruption.
"We already warned that the salary scale is impossible without guaranteed resources and reforms," Jumblat tweeted. "No one paid heed to us and we ended up voting for an unfeasible project."
The PSP chief stressed the urgent need to introduce reforms before launching any new project or getting involved in any new donor conference, sounding the alarm over the increasing public debt while no economic growth is achieved.
"It is not possible to continue in this foggy atmosphere; it is time those responsible of combating corruption and applying reforms to assume this task,” he noted.
“Frankly, we do not want to engage in an argument with anyone. There must be a consensual solution so as to reach a way out,” he tweeted.
