Kataeb politburo member Serge Dagher on Saturday said that contacts have been ongoing between the Kataeb party and the Marada Movement, stressing that political divergences do not prevent dialogue between the two sides.
“While we agree on good performance inside the government, anti-corruption fight and the need to boost the Christians' presence in the public sector, we disagree on ties with the Syrian regime and Hezbollah arms. However, this does not mean that we should not engage in respectful and honest ties," Dagher told Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper.
“The Meraab agreement implied an intention to monopolize the Christian community. That's the last thing we seek to do with the Marada Movement given that we refuse dualities," he added.
