Tele Liban to Broadcast World Cup Games for Free

Caretaker Information Minister Melhem Riachy on Tuesday announced that the Lebanese will get to watch the World Cup games for free as a deal had been reached to let the state-run Tele Liban TV channel to broadcast the matches.

The Daily Star newspaper quoted a source close to the ministerial committee tasked with following up on this issue that a deal had been sealed with Sama group, the sole distributor of beIN Sports in Lebanon.

This cost of the deal will be paid by the country’s two mobile network operators Alfa and Touch, on behalf of the Lebanese government, the source added.
