British girl band "Spice Girls" are set to return to the big screen in 2020 in an animated movie by Paramount Animation.
The five band members came up with the superheroes idea of the film, and will lend their voices to the animated characters.
The movie, produced by the band’s former manager Simon Fuller and written by Karen McCullah and Kiwi Smith, will include the band's original hits as well as adapted songs.
A director has not been assigned yet to the project.
“The band had an idea that we’ve been developing. They are very involved,” Paramount Animation president Mireille Soria told The Hollywood Reporter.
The original 1997's live-action comedy Spice World film reached $151 million at the global box office and $100m in DVD sales despite being critically slammed.
