Ed Sheeran Allowed to Keep Signs at Countryside Residence

Ed Sheeran has won a legal battle over two pub signs that he had put up without permission at his countryside residence in Suffolk, England.

East Suffolk Council had asked the singer to remove the four-meter plaque, which reads The Lancaster Lock; the oak-framed boards are named after his wife Cherry Lancaster Seaborn.

Later, the council stressed that the signage "is not illuminated and it would not impact on the amenity of the neighbouring properties".

"No objections were received and it was decided that the signs would not cause harm to the character and appearance of the curtilage listed building nor the setting of the adjacent listed building,” a council spokesperson told Sky News.

"Neither are the signs considered to harm the amenity of the neighbouring properties,” he added.
