Australia's Daily Telegraph has contested the ruling issued in a high-profile defamation lawsuit case filed by actor Geoffrey Rush, accusing the Federal Court judge behind the verdict of bias. The newspaper on Monday said that the appeal blamed the judge of prejudice in the case, saying that the damages awarded to Rush in his April ruling were “excessive”.
