Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah warned of retaliatory steps against the U.S. over its sanctions targeting Iran and its allies, saying that thedecision to blacklist Iran’s Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization is “stupidity”.
In a televised speech on Wednesday, Nasrallah said that the designation move reflects the “failure” of the U.S. policy in the Middle East, adding that all options are on the cards should Washington opt for escalation steps that "threaten our nation".
Nasrallah affirmed that Iran and its allies have "power cards" despite being hit with sanctions, saying that patience should not be taken as an inability to react.
"The only response so far has been condemnation. There are measures that, if taken by the U.S., will not remain without response. It is our duty to respond to anyone that threatens our country, resistance or people,” he said.
"The U.S. measures against us will not remain without a response and we will respond at the right time," Nasrallah stressed.
