Acting U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs David Satterfield returned to Beirut on Monday to dicuss the border dispute with Israel following his trip to Tel Aviv.

Satterfield held separate talks with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, Prime Minister Saad Hariri and Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil to relay Israel's position on the demarcation of the land and maritime border between the two countries.

“The efforts made by Satterfield have reached some progress, but yet to be over,” a statement from the speaker’s office said.

Satterfield visited Beirut last week, where he also held talks with President Michel Aoun.
