Gemayel Calls on President to Identify Parliamentary Blocs that Asked to Delay Consultations

Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel on Monday called on the President to name the Parliamentary blocs which he declared to ask for a deferral in holding binding parliamentary consultations to choose a new prime minister.

“In line with respecting both principles of openness and transparency, we call on the Directorate General of the Presidency to identify to the people the parliamentary blocs that asked for the deferral of binding parliamentary consultations, as the presidential statement had reported,” Gemayel wrote on his Twitter account.

A statement from the presidency on Sunday indicated that the President has decided to postpone the binding parliamentary consultations due to take place today to Monday, December 16 at the request of most parliamentary blocs and in order to allow for more deliberations.
