Kataeb Leader, Russian Ambassador Discuss Latest Developments

Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel on Monday met with Russian Ambassador Alexander Zasypkin, with talks featuring high on the latest developments in the country and the government status.

During the meeting held at the party’s headquarters in Saifi, Gemayel stressed on the need to designate an independent and neutral prime minister outside of the ruling authority to form a government of competent independent specialists that would in turn hold early Parliamentary elections.

“The Kataeb party had already proposed a law that would shorten the current Parliament’s mandate paving the way for elections to be held on May 2020,” Gemayel restated.

The meeting was also attended by former Economy Minister Alain Hakim, Kataeb politburo member Fady Ardo and the party's International Affairs Officer, Marwan Abdallah.
