Kataeb chief Samy Gemayel on Monday renewed call for holding early parliamentary elections, deeming the controversial Parliament session that discussed and approved the state budget as “sadly grievous”.
“Violations, irresponsibility and suppression associated with the session are sadly distressing. Making a change is a must,” Gemayel wrote on Twitter.
Earlier, Maronite Patriarch Bechara al-Rahi met with Gemayel in Bkirki with talks featuring high on the recent developments in the country as well as the Kataeb party’s stance and suggestions with regard to it.
The meeting was also attended by Kataeb's Deputy-President Salim Sayegh and party's politburo member Faraj Kerbaj.
