Hakim Deems Smuggling Control, Closure of Illegal Crossings as Key to Halt Corruption

Former Minister Alain Hakim deemed closure of illegal passages as the best way to limit the corruption in the country.

Former Economy Minister Alain Hakim on Friday slammed the corruption and waste plaguing the country, deeming smuggling control and closure of illegal passages as the best way to curb the problem.

“Smuggling control at the port, airport and legitimate passages as well as the closure of illegal crossings constitute the largest means to halt wasting resources and corruption prevailing over the country as well as to stop those who are benefiting the situation,” Hakim wrote on twitter.

“This reform and economic step is the key to solve one of the biggest dilemmas in the economy and the State as a whole,” he said.
