Gemayel Calls on the Lebanese to Take to the Streets in a Peaceful way

Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel on Wednesday called on people to take to the streets in a peaceful and organized way.

Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel on Wednesday called on people to take to the streets in a peaceful and organized way, saying that their movement will help re-establish power through forming an independent government and holding parliamentary and presidential elections.

“We have now reached a very critical phase and what we were afraid of has happened,” Gemayel said addressing the Lebanese through his Facebook page.

“There are three scenarios the authority is adopting in a bid to make everything a failure,” he added.

“First, they are trying to keep our mouth shut through establishing a police State and suppress everyone that is expressing his fear and anger amid this chaos prevailing over the country,” he said.

“Second, the chaos that is based on the State’s collapse and finally each sect that will retract itself which will evnetually lead to the return of sectarian parties,” he added.

Gemayel called to reject all these three possibilities, urging the Lebanese to stay united so as to overcome the crisis the country is going through today.

“The risk now lies in the absence of the State and the authority because we are left behind,” he pointed out.

“We have an opportunity today that might never go back; we must convert our anger into a peaceful and civilizational energy,” he added, affirming that change can only succeed in a civilized manner.

Gemayel called on all the Kataeb supporters to prepare themselves and participate in the rescue operation that will save the country, demanding everyone to overcome all sort of partisanships and sects to change the sad reality,

“Until we meet again, in the fateful battle,” he concluded.
