Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel affirmed that the political system has proven its inability of handling the country's main concerns and issues.
Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel on Thursday slammed the political system’s failure and negligence in handling the Lebanese’ main concerns and issues, namely those who have took to the streets and called for an independent government.
“It is a shame how we have returned to the approach that is based on sharing quotas and power among the people of this political system that has proven incapable of running the country and has led it to the phase we are currently experiencing,” Gemayel told TV5 monde.
“Despite our understanding of the French desire to take a quick step in a bid to prevent a catastrophe, we deem what is happening today as not the best way to deal with the crisis,” he said.
“We believe that the French initiative has to be on the side of the Lebanese who took to the streets to demand a real change in the country, but unfortunately what we are witnessing today is nothing similar to a change,” he added.
