Former President Amine Gemayel on Wednesday called for self-reliance.
Former President Amine Gemayel on Wednesday called for self-reliance, deeming selfishness as a main reason why no government has been so far formed in Lebanon.
“Although Lebanon is dealing with the American administration but self-reliance remains the most important matter,”Gemayel told OTV.
“No one is obstructing the government’s formation as much as the Lebanese are, through the act of quotas and acting in the public as private,” he said.
“French President Emmanuel Macron has visited Beirut twice within a month despite France’s crises and we have foiled all his attempts to form a new government,” he said.
Gemayel stressed that there will be no salvation for Lebanon except returning to the Lebanese conscience, saying that the quota system that has destroyed Lebanon must be halted.
“I ask Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel to continue embodying the Lebanese conscience as he does today. He is worthy of his position while he follows the path of his founding grandfather, which is honesty, and he adheres to preserving the Lebanese heritage, sanctities and constants,” he stressed.
