Journalist and political activist Naoufal Daou pointed out that Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel spoke boldly while President Michel Aoun neglected the occupation on the Independence anniversary.
Journalist and political activist Naoufal Daou on Saturday hailed the remarks made by Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel on the eve of Lebanon’s 77 Independence Day, slamming on the other hand the speech addressed by President Michel Aoun.
“Two speeches were delivered yesterday,” Daou wrote on Twitter.
“Gemayel who spoke boldly, directly accusing Hezbollah and its weapons of the drastic situation the country is currently facing, and Aoun who ran away from the truth, neglecting the fact that Iran occupies the Lebanese territories with Hezbollah’s arms,” he said.
“A party leader spoke like a stateman while a President of a Republic overlooked the occupation on the Independence anniversary,” he added.
