Lebanon’s Health Ministry on Thursday launched the electronic platform to all those who wish to register for the coronavirus vaccine.
Caretaker Health Minister Hamad Hassan hoped for the Lebanese to respond to the national vaccination plan so as to raise the vaccination rate to approximately 80%, announcing that within the upcoming two weeks 300 beds will be secured in the governmental hospitals.
For his part, Head of the parliamentary Health Committee MP Assem Araji encouraged everyone to take the vaccine, affirming that it has no “dangerous” side-effects and till now no one has died because of it.
“It will be very important for the country’s economy if we reach 80% from the vaccination rate,” he added.
The vaccination drive isn’t limited only to the Lebanese. Palestinian and Syrian refugees are also entitled to sign up, as well as people of other nationalities.
The first batch of around 50,000 doses is set to arrive in the first half of February from Pfizer-BioNTech.
