Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri on Thursday announced that he agreed with President Michel Aoun to meet again on Monday to tackle the issue of the government’s formation in a bid to save the country from the current economic collapse it is experiencing.
“There is an opportunity today to form a new government. We must use it and think about a way to come up with a clear idea regarding this issue on Monday,” Hariri said following meeting with Aoun at the Presidential Palace in Baabda.
“I have always been honest with you and will always tell you the truth as well as everything that is happening,” he pointed out.
“The Lebanese may have witnessed a collision yesterday between the presidency of the Republic and the Presidency of the government. I am here today to ease the situation and make things clear,” he noted.
“During Monday’s meeting, there would be some important answers about the way to reach a government’s formation as quickly as possible,” he added
