Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel stressed the need to form an independent government as soon as possible.
Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel on Wednesday reiterated need to form an independent government as soon as possible, blaming Lebanese officials for their failure in properly addressing the country’s main issues.
“Lebanese officials are treated as minors and they need someone to encourage them to care about their people, while their efforts must be focused on how to get out of the crisis currently prevailing over the country,” Gemayel said following meeting with Egypt Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri.
“We have affirmed the opposition’s clear stance on the need to form a fully independent government that has three tasks,” he added.
“The negotiations with the International Monetary Fund to pump liquidity, to stop the complete collapse, basic reforms and to organize parliamentary elections,” he pointed out.
Gemayel voiced regret that those concerned with forming a government are still speaking with the logic of quotas, saying that is seen from the Lebanese officials is a disregard for the poverty, oppression and pain that people suffer from.
