Kataeb Party Calls Lawmakers to Revolt Against Themselves and the System

The Kataeb party on Wednesday stressed the lawmakers’ need to revolt against themselves and the current system, calling them to submit their immediate resignation in parallel with a government whose mission is limited to holding legislative elections on time.

“Otherwise there will be no salvation and accountability will inevitably come,” read a statement issued by the Kataeb political bureau following its weekly meeting.

“Despite our frequent warnings, the system continues to procrastinate and delude the Lebanese that it is seeking solutions while they are nothing but useless proposals, such as reconsidering the support program they have set up, which costs 14 million dollars from the Lebanese deposits every day,” it said.

The party renewed its call for signing the Decree 6433 without any delay and to withdraw the file from the interest-based bargaining, stressing the need to link the conflict between Lebanon and Israel to stop drilling in the Karish field until the matter is finally settled in order to preserve the country’s oil wealth.
