Gulf Countries Consent to U.S. Redeployment in the Region

Saudi Arabia and several other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries have consented to a U.S.request to redeploy its military forces in the Arabian Gulf, Asharq Al-Awsat reported quoting knowledgeable Gulf sources.

The Gulf-American agreement aims to counter Iran and prevent it from carrying out any attacks to destabilize the region, the sources said.

According to the sources, the first aim of redeployment is to prevent attacks on the Gulf countries or American interests in the region, and not to engage in a war with Tehran.
