FIFA released its world football ranking on Thursday, with Belgium on top of the list.
France came in the second spot ahead of Brazil, while England moved up one spot seizing the fourth position from Croatia which moved back to the fifth rank.
Despite its embarrassing exit from the 2018 World Cup, Germany also moved three positions up to the 13th in the wake of last month's victory over the Netherlands in the Euro qualifiers.
Austria suffered the biggest plunge by dropping 11 rankings following Euro qualifier defeats by Poland and Israel in March.
Below is the FIFA ranking:
4. England (+1)
5. Croatia (-1)
6. Uruguay (+1)
7. Portugal (-1)
13. Germany (+3)
16. Netherlands (-2)
