Korean Air Removes First Class Seats to Boost Profitability

Korean Air announced on Wednesday that it is removing first class seats from 27 international routes starting early June, saying that it has left only two seating options, economy and prestige, on 76 of its 111 flights.

According to the Straits Times, the company said that the reason for that change was because of the low demand for first class tickets as well as the need to boost financial gains and efficiency.

“We will do our best to minimize the inconvenience of first-class passengers and maintain quality service for prestige-class passengers," a Korean Air spokesperson told the Straits Times.
