Hezbollah is reportedly using Germany’s Berlin along with other locations in the country as a financial center for funneling money to subsidize terror attacks and purchase weapons, Tagesspiegel newspaper indicated, citing security sources.
“Hezbollah members use Germany as a place for drug trafficking, trade in stolen cars and money laundering. The implications of the group for the drug business are well documented,” the German news outlet revealed.
Sources also said that Hezbollah engages in money-laundering, recruitment and fundraising in Germany and then forwards the collected money from donations and such activities to Beirut to buy weapons and fund the group’s operations, Tagesspiegel reported.
According to a 2019 Hamburg intelligence agency, the report uncovered links of around 30 mosques and culture centers in Germany to Hezbollah.
