رحب وزير الخارجية الإيطالي، أنطونيو تاياني، بقرار مجلس النواب اللبناني القاضي بإلغاء عقوبة الإعدام، واصفاً هذه الخطوة بـ "الخبر الرائع".

وأكد تاياني في تصريح له أن هذا القرار يُعد خياراً "يشرف لبنان ومؤسساته"، مشدداً على أنه قد حان الوقت لتتحرك الأمم المتحدة ودعم الوقف العالمي لتطبيق هذه العقوبة.
